Melania Trump husband’s infidelity: “Not a Concern and Focus of Mine”.
Donald Trump has proven repeatedly that he would be happy for the American people to follow every single thing he talks about and does, to the point that he invites another bloviating narcissist into the Oval Office for some camera time. The same is not true for Melania Trump, who in Friday’s interview that ABC has been teasing for a week now, says repeatedly that she does not want to talk. Even as she’s talking. On-camera.
In a new teaser video released by ABC, Tom Llamas asks the First Lady during her recent trip to Africa about her husband’s alleged affairs. He notes that she agreed to the interview with no preconditions.
“You’re not the first First Lady to have to deal with her husband’s alleged infidelities. Has this put a strain on your marriage?” he asks, drawing a not-so-subtle comparison between her and at least a couple Democrats.
“It is not a concern and focus of mine,” she said. “I’m a mother and a First Lady, and I have much more important things to think about and to do. I know people like to speculate, and media like to speculate about our marriage . . . it’s not always pleasant, of course, but I know what is right and what is wrong, and what is true and not true.”
Her terse response is a neat twin to her comment to the press last weekend, in which she demanded that the press pay attention to what she does instead of what she wears (like, say, a controversial pith helmet). The entire effect of this Melania media tour is to meet a woman who is somewhat insulted to be asked about the circus, despite the fact that she lives there.
For the rest of her revelations, or lack thereof, ABC is airing the full interview at 10 P.M. E.S.T. on Friday.
