A Wakefield church was destroyed by fireplace in Massachusetts on Tuesday night after a lightning strike reportedly sparked a blaze that burned by the historic constructing.
Pictures shared with Reuters confirmed firefighters making an attempt to extinguish the burning First Baptist Church situated in Wakefield, about 20 kilometres northwest of Boston.
Crowds of individuals gathered close to the scene on Tuesday. Witnesses informed native media that the steeple was struck by lightning at round 7 p.m. native time (2300GMT) .
The church shared their grief in a press release on their web site saying “Whereas we misplaced our historic constructing from a lightning strike this week, we reward Jesus that our church neighborhood was stored protected. A really large thanks to the numerous firefighters who did their jobs with excellence, and to the outpouring of assist from the neighborhood.”
